Würzburg (dpa / lby) - A drunk threatened a man with an air pistol in Würzburg and shot a tram with it. Police officers provisionally arrested the 28-year-old after the incident on Thursday morning, police and prosecutors said. Police officers also took the gun and an ampoule of amphetamine from the man.
In front of a nightclub, the young man is said to have initially urged a 23-year-old to hand over a cigarette with his pistol. He then reportedly shot a tram with a steel ball. According to the police, the damage to a window pane on the train is around 1,000 euros. Nobody got hurt. The 28-year-old is suspected, among other things, of serious extortion. A judge should decide on a possible detention in the course of Thursday.
A breath alcohol test on the man from Würzburg showed a value of two per thousand. A blood test was ordered to find out if the man was under the influence of drugs. Due to his health condition, the man was taken to a hospital.
