Bavaria: Police donate 60 kilos of cat food to an animal shelter

Bayreuth (dpa / lby) - Leftovers from an alleged money laundering business: The police in Bayreuth donated 60 kilograms of cat food. Officials handed it over to the Bayreuth animal shelter on Wednesday, the police said on Thursday. The officials found the food at the end of April from a couple who are believed to have acted as so-called goods agents in a money laundering business. The injured animal feed company did not assert any claims.

The police warn of the scam Warenagent, who probably also unknowingly sat up the couple. The 30-year-old and his 28-year-old wife had ordered goods for another man in their name, packed them in larger boxes and sent them to China on his behalf. When a few weeks later the couple received a reminder about unpaid goods, they informed the police at the end of April. In addition to clothes and cosmetics, officials also secured 60 kilograms of cat food.
