Bavaria: Runaway dogs trigger larger police operations

Mainleus (dpa / lby) - A 22-year-old man threatened a 42-year-old man in Mainleus (Kulmbach district) with a gun after he had alerted him to free-roaming dogs. Local residents noticed the animals in Mainleus on Monday night, the police said. The 42-year-old suspected that his neighbor was the owner of the dogs and knocked on a window next to his front door. The 22-year-old is said to have opened the window and threatened the neighbors with a gun.

Several people then left the building. The threatened neighbor fled to his house while a neighbor called the police. Several police patrols surrounded the alleged dog owner's house and arrested him. The officers found that the gun was a deceptively real-looking airsoft gun. Airsoft guns are special compressed air guns that often look very similar to real firearms. A report of threats will be filed against the man, it said.
