Weidhausen near Coburg (dpa/lby) - A safe weighing 200 kilograms was stolen from a company premises in Upper Franconia. The strangers broke into the building of a company in Weidhausen near Coburg (Coburg district) in the night from Thursday to Friday, the police announced on Saturday. Here they stole not only the safe, in which the car keys and cash were stored, but also tools and two license plates.

The thieves first broke open two roller doors and then searched the premises. According to the police's initial findings, they probably loaded the safe onto their getaway truck, which they had driven onto the premises, using a lift truck that belonged to the company. The property damage amounts to around 5000 euros. Then there are the stolen goods, the value of which is estimated at a low five-digit amount.
