Dettelbach (dpa / lby) - Five children were slightly injured in a school bus accident in Lower Franconia. The 64-year-old bus driver had 22 children on board on Friday when he drove into a ditch near Dettelbach (Kitzingen district) to avoid an animal on the road, police said on Sunday.
Five children aged nine and ten were slightly injured in the accident and could still be treated on site. The bus driver and his employer are now being investigated for escaping from a traffic accident. After the accident, the 64-year-old continued to drive on behalf of the bus operator. He then returned on the orders of the police.
