Aschaffenburg (dpa / lby) - During several searches in Lower Franconia, officials seized drugs, suspected drug money, weapons and devices with child pornographic content. Two suspects were brought before the investigating judge, the police and prosecutors announced on Thursday. A 23-year-old man was taken into custody.

The six searches on Wednesday in the city and in the district of Aschaffenburg were preceded by months of investigations by the criminal police and public prosecutor. The officers found around 2.5 kilograms of marijuana and hashish and around 12,500 euros in cash. In addition, several banned weapons, including butterfly knives, and storage media containing child pornography files were confiscated. Five suspects were arrested, three of whom were released after the police measures had been completed.

According to the information, two 23 and 24-year-old suspects were brought before a judge on Wednesday at the request of the public prosecutor. The 23-year-old was taken into custody on suspicion of illegal armed dealing with narcotics. The arrest warrant for the 24-year-old was suspended under strict conditions.
