Bavaria: series of fires in Upper Bavaria: police are looking for perpetrators

Neuötting (dpa / lby) - After another fire in Neuötting in Upper Bavaria (district of Altötting), the Mühldorf am Inn criminal police have increased the search pressure. Since May 2019, the police and the public prosecutor's office in Traunstein have been investigating 18 cases of arson, officials said. On Thursday, beverage crates near a supermarket were set on fire by an unknown perpetrator. Immediate searches were unsuccessful.

Since May 2019, there have been a total of 18 fires in the commercial area in Neuötting. In many cases, paper containers, pallets or empty crates were set on fire - some times the fire spread to adjacent buildings. According to the information, the damage to property now amounts to a mid-six-figure amount. The investigators assume that the fire was deliberately set.

Most recently, at the beginning of October 2022, wooden pallets caught fire. The fire spread to an e-waste container and eventually to an electronics store. There was property damage of over 100,000 euros.

The Kripo has now published photos and videos of the perpetrators in order to increase the search pressure. Witness references are requested.
