Bavaria: Seriously injured in the fire: Neighbors choose an emergency call

Munich (dpa / lby) - A 25-year-old was seriously injured in a fire in Munich - attentive neighbors may have prevented worse. As a fire department spokesman reported on Sunday, residents called the emergency number because they noticed smoke in the stairwell of the apartment building on Saturday morning and heard a fire alarm. Emergency services broke open the apartment door and found the unconscious man there. The 25-year-old was taken to hospital with smoke inhalation. The fire brigade extinguished burnt food and smoked out the rooms. The fire brigade was initially unable to say how extensive the damage was.
