Geisenhausen (dpa / lby) - The driver of a small truck was seriously injured at a level crossing in the Landshut district. The 57-year-old wanted to pass the unrestricted crossing at Geisenhausen on Monday when the train crashed into the small truck despite emergency braking and dragged it 20 meters, the police said in the evening.
The force of the impact threw the woman out of the vehicle window. She was taken to a hospital with multiple broken bones. Of the 36 passengers on the train, only one woman was slightly injured.
The railway line was reopened in the evening after being closed for several hours. The pickup truck was totally destroyed. Damage to the train alone was estimated at 150,000 euros.
