Bavaria: Snowfall in Bavaria despite the beginning of spring

Munich (dpa/lby) - Although the meteorological spring has already begun, winter is not quite letting go of the Free State: The German Weather Service (DWD) has announced snowfall in some areas for Tuesday and Wednesday. The north of Bavaria is particularly affected.

Already on Tuesday night there was increased snowfall or sleet from Hesse. According to the DWD, snow will also fall in some areas in northern Bavaria during the day, and there may be rain at lower altitudes. South of the Danube, on the other hand, it should remain dry, and the sun can be seen at times. Snow is also expected to fall north of the Danube at lower altitudes on Wednesday. According to a DWD meteorologist, one to five centimeters of fresh snow can be expected there, and up to ten centimeters are possible in the low mountain ranges. The snow is expected to be over on Thursday: the DWD will then announce milder temperatures and rain.
