Munich/Regensburg (dpa/lby) - Areas for suitable locations for wind turbines in the Bavarian state forests are to be auctioned off in an open bidding process. "The bidding process is already being used for new site security contracts," said a spokesman for the state forests on Friday at the request of the German Press Agency in Munich. However, the specific list of criteria for selecting a bidder will still be submitted to the Supervisory Board for approval.
According to the spokesman, the background to the bidding process is the expectation that there will be "a very high level of demand from investors, project developers and operators of wind turbines". The aim of the state forests is therefore to allocate possible locations for wind turbines publicly, transparently and non-discriminatoryly and, above all, quickly. The "Süddeutsche Zeitung" also reported on this.
The state forests expressly emphasized that the bidding process was based on a particularly community-friendly "Bavarian way". This means that suitable areas agree on the framework conditions for the tender with the respective local community, i.e. about how many systems can be built there. They are then offered on the website of the state forests.
"The bidders are expected to take into account the specifications agreed with the municipalities in their offers and, in particular, to provide specific information on the participation opportunities for citizens and the municipalities," it said. In general, participation opportunities are very important, especially to ensure the region's acceptance of the project.
"Specifically, this means: In the bidding process, the highest bidder will not necessarily be awarded the contract," said the state forests. It is more important to meet the requirements of the municipality, to provide for the participation of the citizens in the wind turbine, to plan a forest and environmentally friendly construction method and to demonstrate experience in the construction of wind turbines.
