Nuremberg (dpa/lby) - Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier shows 150 ambassadors and high-ranking representatives of international organizations sent to Germany on Tuesday. The trip stops in Nuremberg, the science city of Erlangen and the historic cathedral city of Bamberg.

Since 1996, German Federal Presidents have regularly organized such information and meeting trips for the diplomatic corps. In the past two years it had to be canceled due to the pandemic. Before that, she went to a different state every year. In 2019 Rhineland-Palatinate, in 2018 Bremen and in 2017 Saxony-Anhalt was the destination of the trip.

In Nuremberg, Steinmeier will first visit the medium-sized mechanical engineering company Leistritz with the diplomats and then visit the Germanic Museum. In Erlangen, a visit to the Helmholtz Institute is on the agenda. Steinmeier will visit the cathedral in Bamberg and then give a speech in the new residence.
