Before that, she went to a different state every year. In 2019 Rhineland-Palatinate, in 2018 Bremen and in 2017 Saxony-Anhalt was the destination of the trip.

In Nuremberg, Steinmeier will first visit the medium-sized mechanical engineering company Leistritz with the diplomats and then visit the Germanic Museum. In Erlangen, a visit to the Helmholtz Institute is on the agenda. Steinmeier will visit the cathedral in Bamberg and then give a speech in the new residence.
