Bavaria: Strike at the company of the employer negotiator

Munich (dpa/lby) - IG Metall went on strike in 50 companies in Bavaria on Wednesday in the wage conflict - including the company of the employer negotiator, Angelique Renkhoff-Mücke. At the Warema Renkhoff company in Bettingen, 200 employees took part in the warning strike, the union said. "The tapes stood still at times." Nationwide, 9,000 metal workers were on a warning strike.

According to IG Metall, the biggest actions were at SKF in Schweinfurt, MAN Energy Solutions in Augsburg, Airbus in Manching, MTU in Munich and Grob in Mindelheim. At BMW in Dingolfing, the night shift stopped work for an hour.

The fourth round of collective bargaining for the approximately 855,000 employees in Bavaria was adjourned on Tuesday evening without any significant rapprochement. In the nationwide collective bargaining conflict, IG Metall is demanding eight percent more wages for a contract term of twelve months. Employers have offered a one-off payment of 3,000 euros net for a period of 30 months, as well as an unspecified increase in the wage tables.
