Bavaria: Stuttgart and Munich particularly forgetful in the taxi

Munich/Stuttgart (dpa/lby) - From shopping bags to jewel chains: according to statistics, taxi guests from Stuttgart and Munich often forget something in the vehicle. The travel agency Free Now evaluated several million taxi and rental car bookings by its customers throughout Europe.

The result: In no other European country were so many objects left in vehicles this year as in Germany. The leader of the "most forgetful German cities" is Hamburg, followed by Stuttgart and Munich.

The data analysis published on Wednesday shows that people most often forget their phones, wallets, handbags, headphones and umbrellas in their vehicles. However, there are always unusual forgotten objects. A wedding dress, three live lizards and an assortment of sex toys have already been left behind after trips this year and reported missing.

A forgotten wok, the grandmother left behind, a diamond necklace and a forgotten urn with a relative's ashes also led to customer inquiries.
