Bayreuth (dpa / lby) - During a routine check of a car on Autobahn 9 near Bayreuth, the police tracked down suspected fraudsters. In the car of the two men, the officials found 10,000 Swiss francs, over 50,000 euros and jewelry worth several thousand euros on Tuesday evening, as the police headquarters in Upper Franconia reported on Wednesday.
The investigators are currently assuming that the money and the jewelry are related to a case of fraud in southern Germany. A police spokesman did not provide any further details. The 50 and 55-year-old men are being investigated on suspicion of fraud and money laundering. They were initially released.
