Bavaria: The city of Nuremberg now also waters trees with pool water

Nuremberg (dpa/lby) - The trees in Nuremberg are currently being watered with pool water from closed indoor pools, among other things. The plants suffered from the drought, the city administration wrote on the social media platform Twitter. Therefore, tankers pump the water from the pools of the baths and continue to water the trees.

Three out of four indoor swimming pools in Nuremberg have been temporarily closed since the beginning of July. This measure serves to save energy. The chlorine in the pool water has degraded to such an extent that it does not harm the trees, according to a statement on the city's water concept. Whether the water from other pools can also be used is currently being checked.
