Bavaria: The risk of forest fires increases again: rain from Thursday

Munich (dpa/lby) - The risk of a forest fire increases sharply again on Wednesday in large parts of Bavaria, but is expected to drop again from Thursday due to rain. With temperatures up to 34 degrees and a weak easterly wind, the German Weather Service issued warning level 4 out of 5 for many areas in Bavaria on Wednesday. In Bad Kissingen, Bamberg, Schwandorf, Regensburg and some other places there is even the highest warning level for forest fires.

The rain showers that meteorologists see coming for Thursday are expected to bring relaxation. As a result, the risk of forest fires could drop to at least warning level 3 of 5. Heavy rain is expected in many places from Friday. This significantly reduces the risk of forest fires, they say. Only warning level 1 is then expected for most of Bavaria.
