Munich (dpa/lby) - TSV 1860 Munich, which is still without a coach, must try to initiate the longed-for and urgently needed trend reversal in the 3rd soccer league with managing director Günther Gorenzel. The 51-year-old Austrian will also sit on the "Löwen" bench as an interim coach in the home game against SC Verl on Sunday (1 p.m.), as he himself confirmed on Friday.
In the first two games after the separation from Michael Köllner, the sixties only managed one point. Most recently there was even a defeat at SV Meppen, who had been without a win for months. The ascent is practically ticked off as a goal.
After a supervisory board meeting on Thursday evening, a solution in the Köllner successor seems to be in the offing. "However, certain prerequisites still have to be met and details clarified," said Gorenzel.
As before, he did not comment publicly on names. According to media reports, the favorite should be Achim Beierlorzer. The 55-year-old Franconian has a lot of experience, having worked at RB Leipzig, Jahn Regensburg and in the Bundesliga at 1. FC Köln and Mainz 05.
