Bavaria: Tree falls on the tracks: 67 passengers have to wait on the train

Marzling (dpa/lby) - A tree fell on the overhead lines and tracks of a railway line in the Freising district during felling work. The train driver of a train with 67 passengers was able to avoid a collision at Marzing with an emergency brake, as the federal police announced on Saturday. Nobody got hurt.

Two 58- and 44-year-old workers were busy on Friday with the felling work on the railway line. They sawed a tree that fell against another that was rotten and therefore fell uncontrollably. He fell on overhead wires and tracks. The 67 passengers in the train, which was forced to stop, had to wait in the carriages for almost two hours due to problems with the grounding of the lines. The two workers are being investigated for dangerous intervention in rail traffic.
