Wörth am Main/Aschaffenburg (dpa/lby) - After the fatal fall of a man from a Main bridge in Lower Franconia, the trial against the suspect is scheduled to begin on November 10th. The regional court in Aschaffenburg has admitted the charges, a court spokeswoman said. A total of eight trial days are scheduled until December 22nd. The "Main-Echo" (Tuesday) had previously reported about it. A 34-year-old at the time of the crime is accused of having encouraged his acquaintance on February 17 to jump into the river between Wörth and Erlenbach (Miltenberg district). The accused is in custody.
The public prosecutor accuses the man of dangerous bodily harm, extortion and murder in indirect perpetration. This means that a perpetrator uses someone else as a "tool" for committing the crime, i.e. does not carry out the action himself.
The suspect's motive is unknown. According to earlier information, the investigators suspect that the man previously hit the victim. According to the prosecutor, the men had known each other for several years. The cause of death is a reflex death when the 30-year-old was immersed in cold water.
The accused had been arrested in Rhineland-Palatinate. The body was found a good three weeks after the jump at the lock of the Kleinwallstadt power plant on the Bavarian-Hessian border.
