Bavaria: Twelve fitness studios warned because of terms and conditions

Munich (dpa / lby) - The consumer advice center in Bavaria has warned twelve fitness studios. The studios have not yet adapted their general terms and conditions to a legal situation, the consumer advice center announced on Wednesday. Since March 1st, shorter notice periods apply to contracts for regular services and the delivery of goods.

Since then, consumers have been able to terminate contracts with fitness studios or telecommunications providers, for example, with one month's notice. If a contract is automatically extended after the initial term has expired, it can also be terminated with this notice period. An automatic extension by, for example, three, six or twelve months is no longer permitted.

According to the consumer advice center, ten of the twelve fitness studios warned have already issued a cease-and-desist declaration and committed to changing their terms and conditions. Two cases are still open.
