Nordhalben (dpa/lby) - A 57-year-old driver died in a collision with another car in the Upper Franconian district of Kronach. The 24-year-old driver of the other car was seriously injured in the accident on Monday morning, police said. For initially unclear reasons, both cars collided on a district road near Nordhalben.
Firefighters were able to free the 24-year-old man who was trapped in his car. According to the information, he was taken to a hospital by rescue helicopter with serious injuries. For the 57-year-old driver, however, any help came too late. Police said he died at the scene of the accident. An expert should now clarify the cause of the accident.
