Eching (dpa / lby) - Two people were injured in a fire in an apartment building in Upper Bavaria. A resident of the building in Eching (Freising district) noticed a burning smell on Sunday night and then discovered a fire in the hallway, the police said on Sunday. According to the police, initial findings point to arson. However, there are no suspects yet.

The residents of the house were able to extinguish the fire with water before emergency services arrived. Two residents aged 50 and 77 suffered smoke inhalation and had to be treated in hospital. There was damage of 10,000 euros. The police has started investigation.
