Bavaria: Unknown leaves more than three tons of chips in storage

Dachau (dpa / lby) - More than 900 boxes full of potato chips ended up in a Dachau warehouse. A previously unknown owner had wanted to temporarily store them there, as the police announced on Sunday. Since the 3.5 tons of chips were delivered, their owner seems to have disappeared without a trace. The person no longer reported to the owner of the camp. It was initially unclear what would happen to the huge load of chips that expired in January. The police joked: "The snacks for the New Year's Eve party could thus be secured".

The stranger used an e-mail address similar to that of a chips company for communication, it was said. He had the wish to store the popular snack there for just a few days. If the owner does not report, he must dispose of everything, said the warehouse owner of the German Press Agency.
