Binz (dpa / lby) - A vacationer from Würzburg was injured in a café in Binz on the island of Rügen in an incident with an electric wheelchair user. According to the police on Wednesday, the driver came into the restaurant and, for reasons that are still unclear, drove into a heavy table, which caused it to tip over. This met the 81-year-old woman from Bavaria. She is said to have suffered multiple broken ribs.
The incident happened on February 22, but was only later reported to the police. According to the current state of investigation, the driver was traveling with a second person with an electric wheelchair. But she went to the café on foot. After the incident, both disappeared again.
The police are now looking for the driver, they are investigating because of negligent bodily harm. She is said to be between 70 and 80 years old and own a bright red electric wheelchair.
