Coburg (dpa / lby) - Four men accused of kidnapping by extortion have to answer before the Coburg district court on Wednesday. According to the findings of the investigators, they are said to have taken a man into their power in Coburg last autumn.
They are said to have held him in a warehouse overnight, threatened him with a knife and beat him. They threatened to only release him if he gave them 450,000 euros. The man was finally able to save himself when he claimed that so much money was deposited with a law firm. The accused took the man to the law firm, where he was able to free himself. A total of six days of hearings are scheduled, and a verdict could come on July 19.
