Bavaria: Warning strikes canceled in Bavaria: intended takeover

Munich (dpa / lby) - After the wage agreement in the southwest, the warning strikes in the Bavarian metal and electrical industry were canceled. The bargaining parties in Free State declared on Friday that they are now aiming for timely takeover negotiations for the conclusion. The Association of the Bavarian Metal and Electrical Industry (vbm) spoke of a "barely viable compromise" at the pain threshold "and partly above".

In the south west, after twelve hours of negotiations and an imminent termination, the collective bargaining parties agreed on Friday night on wage increases of 5.2 percent by June 2023 and another 3.3 percent from May 2024 over a period of 24 months. In addition, there are tax-free one-off payments totaling 3,000 euros.

Both the employers' association Gesamtmetall and the board of directors of IG Metall have recommended the adoption of the result in all collective bargaining areas. IG Metall Bayern said they wanted to negotiate on this next week.

Vbm general manager Bertram Brossardt said that the collective bargaining parties had "shown their special responsibility in difficult times". The conclusion is expensive, but brings planning security with the long term. He also praised the automatic differentiation for companies with lower returns in the additional pay scale.

In Bavaria, IG Metall had announced warning strikes in 31 companies for Friday in the event that an agreement had not been reached. These are now omitted.
