Weiden (dpa / lby) - Because of her attack on passers-by with a sword, a 66-year-old woman has to answer to the regional court in Weiden in the Upper Palatinate. The public prosecutor accuses her of attempted murder and dangerous bodily harm. The woman was placed in a psychiatric facility after the crime in August 2022. According to the court, the trial begins today. Five days of negotiations are initially planned.
According to the investigation, last summer the woman first attacked a 63-year-old man in the community of Vohenstrauß and then three 46, 58 and 61-year-old passers-by in nearby Weiden with a sword and injured three of them. Another man who rushed to help the victims suffered scratch injuries.
