Regensburg (dpa / lby) - A 37-year-old man has to answer to the Regensburg Regional Court for the killing of his partner. The public prosecutor accuses him of murder. The start of the process is this Friday (9:00 a.m.). According to the indictment, the man stabbed his 27-year-old partner to death in February 2022 in the bedroom of his apartment in Neutraubling (Regensburg district) when she was lying in bed next to her daughter. The nine-year-old had to watch the crime. The public prosecutor's office considers the murder characteristics of base motives, malice and cruelty to be given.
Motives are said to have been an emerging separation from him and the woman's new relationship with another man. The defendant did not want to accept this. After the crime, the man, a German citizen, called the police himself. He allowed himself to be arrested in his apartment without resistance, as the police announced at the time.
Seven more days of negotiations have been scheduled for the trial. The verdict could come at the end of November.
