Würzburg (dpa / lby) - Bundesliga basketball team s.Oliver Würzburg has found a new playmaker. The Lower Franconia have signed the American Stanley Whittaker. The 27-year-old last played in the 2nd Bundesliga for the PS Karlsruhe Lions. According to the club, he signed a two-year contract in Würzburg on Wednesday until 2024. The 1.83 meter tall point guard is the fifth foreigner in coach Sasa Filipovski's team.
"We are very happy that Stanley, as the best ProA player, will be our new playmaker. I've been following his career and his development for several years," said Kresimir Loncar, Sport and Scouting Manager at the Würzburg team. He called Whittaker a "very good scorer". But he should also do a lot for the Bundesliga team as a passer, leader and defender.
