Schöllkrippen (dpa/lby) - After a series of arson attacks in Schöllkrippen (Aschaffenburg district), the police arrested a young firefighter as a suspect. The district court issued an arrest warrant against the youth on Monday due to strong suspicion of arson and serious arson, the police and public prosecutor reported. The suspect is said to be a member of the youth fire brigade himself.
He was arrested on Sunday evening after a fire broke out in an apartment building in a district of Schöllkrippen, which was probably set intentionally. The residents were able to save themselves, the property damage is more than 100,000 euros. The suspect was caught near the scene of the crime. Since the end of May there had been several fires in the Schneppenbach district, probably after arson.
