Bavaria: Young man goes for a spin with stolen vehicles

Burghaslach (dpa / lby) - According to the police in Middle Franconia, an 18-year-old took jaunts with several stolen commercial vehicles. First, he got into a tractor on a company site in Burghaslach (Neustadt/Aisch-Bad Windsheim district) and used it to break through the courtyard gate, a spokesman said on Monday. Then the young man landed in the ditch with the tractor on Sunday night and left the vehicle damaged.

The accident did not seem to impress the 18-year-old. A little later, according to the police, he stole an excavator from the industrial site and put it in a pond. The man then went back to the company's yard a third time, climbed onto a wheel loader and crashed into a fence with it.

Finally, the 18-year-old took another tractor for a nightly jaunt through half the district, said the police spokesman. According to the information, he visited a friend with the strange vehicle, who finally called the police.

The 18-year-old brought the tractor back to the industrial site undamaged, it said. Police officers located him on Sunday morning and found that he did not have a driver's license. According to the spokesman, he was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
