Bayern: Bayern basketball players extend Weiler-Babb until 2024

Munich (dpa / lby) - Basketball runner-up FC Bayern Munich has extended his contract with US guard Nick Weiler-Babb by two years until 2024. As Munich announced on Friday, the 26-year-old is now in his third season with the Bundesliga club. "I believe in the project and the development of this club and I'm proud to continue to be a part of it," said the American, according to the club's statement.

After a severe concussion, Weiler-Babb fought back to top form at the end of the season. Under coach Andrea Trinchieri, he received the second most time at Bayern in the past season both in the premier class and in the Bundesliga.

"Nick has improved incredibly over the past twelve months and his versatility was a big plus for our team," Bayern sporting director Daniele Baiesi explained the further cooperation. "Although he is now in his third year, we think he is now close to reaching the highest level of his enormous potential."
