Bayern: Bayern lend attacking player Singh to Regensburg again

Regensburg (dpa / lby) - SSV Jahn Regensburg brings back offensive player Sarpreet Singh. FC Bayern Munich has prematurely extended the contract with the 23-year-old New Zealander until the summer of 2024 and has again loaned him to the second division soccer team from the Upper Palatinate for the coming season.

Singh had already been in action for Regensburg last season. According to Jahn, he scored five goals in 25 games on Wednesday and set up eight more assists before a pubic bone injury slowed him down at the end of the season.

"After Sarpreet's move to Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga didn't work out and he had to take a few more weeks off due to injury, we're very happy that he can return to a familiar environment. We're convinced that he'll be able to return to his old level of performance at Jahn will build on," said Munich junior manager Jochen Sauer.

Singh moved from Wellington Phoenix to Munich in 2019. In the meantime, he had also been loaned to 1. FC Nürnberg. "Since he has an injury that is not uncomplicated, we are giving him all the time he needs to get fit to play again. But he will join the team in the coming days and complete the rehabilitation measures here in Regensburg," explained the Regensburger Sports Managing Director Roger Stilz.
