Bayern: Bayern soccer players commit Brazilian for the first time

Munich (dpa / lby) - The footballers of FC Bayern Munich have signed a Brazilian for the first time. The 23-year-old defensive player Tainara de Souza da Silva is moving to Munich from the French first division club Girondins Bordeaux. There she signed a three-year contract. Former Bayern star Giovane Elber also welcomed his compatriot to the FC Bayern campus when the contract was signed.

"She's a very athletic defender and her qualities will help us to develop defensively," said Bianca Rech, the Bayern women's sporting director. Tainara joined Girondins Bordeaux in 2021 from Brazilian club Palmeiras in the French first division.

"Football in Germany is technically and tactically at a very high level - better than in Brazil or France," said Tainara, according to a statement on Tuesday. "I want to win all the titles that can be won with FC Bayern."
