Bayern: Dorsch dreams of the national team: the door is not closed

Augsburg (dpa / lby) - Midfielder Niklas Dorsch from FC Augsburg still believes in his big dream of playing for the German national team at some point. "I know that there is no door closed," said the 24-year-old footballer in an interview with "Kicker". At the same time, the U21 European champion is aware that "Anton Stach (FSV Mainz 05) and other guys are in the lead in his position".

Dorsch has therefore set himself the goal of drawing more attention to himself on the pitch for the coming Bundesliga season. "I want to become more of a goal threat and be involved in goal actions, want to be in the position to complete or play the decisive pass more often," said the Upper Franconian. Dorsch scored one goal in 30 Bundesliga appearances last season.

The right footer is currently working on his comeback after breaking his collarbone in the last game of the season. The aim is to be able to train with the team again in the training camp, said Dorsch. FCA is preparing for the new season from July 10th to 18th in Scheffau in Tyrol. On July 31st, the first competitive game in the DFB-Pokal at regional league club TuS Blau-Weiss Lohne is coming up.
