FC Köln, coach Mersad Selimbegovic sees only a tiny advantage in the fact that his SSV Jahn Regensburg has already played two competitive games this season. "If so, then 0.01 percent," said the Jahn coach before the first round game this Saturday (3:30 p.m. / Sky) against the clearly favored Rhinelanders.
In truth, Selimbegovic and his team, which started the season with two wins and leads the 2nd division as table leaders, are of course already pursuing a clear plan for success. The home advantage in front of probably 15,000 spectators in the Jahnstadion also plays a role in this: You want to "take the fans with you" and force "an open exchange of blows", said the coach on Thursday: "I hope that it's not just the weather, but also on place gets hot."
The people of Cologne have been warned: in February 2021, they lost the only cup duel with Jahn in the round of 16 on penalties in the Regensburg stadium.
