Munich (dpa / lby) - According to media reports, the Italian Maurizio Jacobacci is to become the new coach of the third division soccer team TSV 1860 Munich. The 60-year-old is supposed to complete his first session with the "lions" on Monday. There were initially no official announcements about the personnel.
Jacobacci last coached the Tunisian first division club CS Sfaxien, but he had to leave there in February. He has otherwise mostly trained in Switzerland. In Munich, Jacobacci would succeed Michael Köllner, who was released at the end of January.
1860 interim coach Günther Gorenzel recently announced an end to the search for a coach. "The aim is for us to find a coach over the weekend. And then the aim is for this coach to be there at the beginning of next week," said Gorenzel after the 0-0 draw on Friday at Hallesches FC, who were threatened with relegation. It was the fourth winless game under the Austrian.
