Bayern: Nürnberg signs striker Daferner from Dynamo Dresden

Nuremberg (dpa/lby) - Around three weeks before the start of the new season in the 2nd Bundesliga, 1. FC Nuremberg presented the next new signing for the offensive. As the "Club" announced on Tuesday, the 24-year-old Christoph Daferner comes from Dynamo Dresden, who have been relegated to the second division. "I'm really happy to be here. I want to take the next step in my development at FCN," said Daferner, according to the club's announcement. Born in Swabia, he is the third new striker for Franconia after Manuel Wintzheimer and Kwadwo Duah.

With their new signing, Nürnberg are hoping for more penetrating power on the offensive. In the past season, coach Robert Klauß' team was one of the more harmless teams in the front half of the table with 49 goals.

Daferner scored 13 goals in 32 games for Dresden - including in the second half of the season against Nuremberg. "With Christoph, we have a young, very willing and hard-working attacker who has great potential and will take further steps with us," said FCN sporting director Olaf Rebbe about the new signing.

Nuremberg are currently preparing for the new season at the training camp in South Tyrol. Daferner is already there too. In Natz-Schabs, Klauss and his team want to create the conditions for a successful start of the league game on July 16 at FC St. Pauli.
