Body positivity photos by the pool: Lena Dunham is at peace with herself

Musician Lizzo is not the only one who repeatedly campaigns for tolerance and healthy body awareness by posting nude photos of herself. Actress Lena Dunham is also taking a stand against body shaming with bikini photos.

Actress Lena Dunham poses confidently in revealing swimwear on Instagram to campaign for body positivity and against body shaming. She can be seen on the beach and at the pool, among other things. The 36-year-old wears a black swimsuit and a green, lavender and orange bikini. "One part, second part, red part, blue part," Dunham wrote. In early June, she uploaded a pool picture and wrote: "Sometimes I forget how important it is to wear a bikini."

Her numerous tattoos can always be admired in her photos. On the arms, stomach and thighs, Dunham presents a rose and several letterings, among other things. Her fans celebrate the actress for her self-confidence. US musician Margie Plus commented, "Hottie! I love you Queen." Another fan wrote: "I wish I had your confidence... I look at you and I'm like, 'Beautiful!' But then I look at myself and I can't help but hide everything... You're a role model."

Last October, Lena Dunham shared on Instagram that she was affected by body shaming. She couldn't reconcile the narrative "that I should be kind of ashamed because my body has changed," she wrote. "'Did Lena eat the cast of Girls?' it's just not a good joke." She continued, "When are we going to stop equating being thin with being healthy/happiness? Of course, weight loss can be the result of a positive habit change, but you know what? Weight gain can be, too."

Recent photos of her would be compared to pictures "from the time I was actively addicted and my illness was undiagnosed". Over the four years, Dunham "got sober" and "started life as someone who strives for health, not just achievement." The creator and star of "Girls" was a drug addict, as she first revealed on Dax Shepard's 2018 podcast "Armchair Expert."

"I say this for everyone else whose appearance has changed through time, illness or circumstance - it's okay to live in your current body without considering it as an in-between stage. I do it and I really enjoy it." , she explained on Instagram.
