Browns are excited about rookie WR David Bell’s ball skills

While the Browns still await word from the league on who will be available as a quarterback to them for the start of the year, it seems like rookie David Bell will be one of the candidates to be thrown passes for Cleveland.

Bell was able to catch 232 passes at Purdue but did not make it into the draft until the end. Although questions about Bell's speed might have kept him off the board, he continued to work out in the slot during the team's offseason programs. Wide receivers coach Chad O'Shea stated that Bell was "one the best draft players with regard to his ball skills."

O'Shea stated that speed is only one aspect of being a great receiver. However, there are many other factors involved. It's body control. It is the ability to see where you are and sideline awareness. All of these things are crucial in the development and growth of a young wide receiver. We're able work with him on a lot of them."

O'Shea said Bell also "has the ability make defenders missin space and the ability find the end zone." Bell should be given the chance to play in the Browns' early years of his career.
