Three people died late this Tuesday afternoon after being hit by a vehicle that left the road in the town of Suesa, in the Cantabrian municipality of Ribamontán al Mar.

The deceased are a 42-year-old woman and her 19-year-old son, residents of Sestao (Vizcaya), and another 68-year-old woman, a neighbor of Santo Domingo de la Calzada (La Rioja), as reported by the Government Delegation in Cantabria it's a statement.

The events occurred around 8:00 p.m. at kilometer 0.6 of the road on the CA-433 regional highway.

The driver has lost control of the vehicle and has left the road, running over these three people who were walking in the company of relatives on the pedestrian walkway next to the road.

The first notice of the multiple hit-and-run was received at the 112 Emergency Coordination Center, which immediately dispatched the Civil Guard, 061, Highway Maintenance, Interior technicians from the Government of Cantabria, as well as a Red Cross psychosocial support team.

Upon arrival at the scene, the medical personnel could only confirm the death of two of the people, while a third was in critical condition and was going to be taken to the hospital but died minutes later.
