Capitol Storm: Trump is 'At Centre' of the 'Attempted coup', Inquiry Concludes

The "culmination Of A Coup Attempt" was the Capitol storming. It occurred one year and a quarter after the January 6, 2021 events that shocked the globe. A parliamentary inquiry put Donald Trump in the middle of a conspiracy to keep him in power.

There was a riot in the halls, with elected officials crawling on to the ground in gas masks, protesters stormed the Houses. This happened after Bennie Thompson, the former president, encouraged them to do so. The hearings were to establish that there was a deliberate campaign against the outcome of the 2020 presidential election won by Joe Biden.

Bennie Thompson stated that January 6 was the culmination a coup attempt during the two-hour hearing. Donald Trump was the centre of this conspiracy.

This group of elected officials, seven Democrats and two Republicans, has listened to more than 1000 witnesses, including two children from the former president. They have also scanned 140,000 documents to find out the details of Donald Trump's actions and gestures before, during, and after the event that rocked American democracy.

"President Trump called the people together, rallied them, and ignited the fire for this attack," Liz Cheney, one the few elected Republicans, said.

The "January 6" Commission released unpublished and very violent images of that cold winter day when thousands of Donald Trump supporters rallied in Washington to protest the outcome of the 2020 election. These videos show a crowd storming Congress' headquarters, calling for Vice President Mike Pence to be "hung", and a protester reading Donald Trump's tweets from a megaphone in the middle of a cheering crowd.

Bennie Thompson jokingly said, "It wasn't a tourist visit to Capitol." He was referring to those Republicans who made the same argument. A collage of Donald Trump calling protesters "peaceful" while assuring there is "love and in the air" is superimposed over some of these images.

Caroline Edwards, a police officer who was the first to be attacked by rioters on Jan 6, testified before the commission. She described the area surrounding the Capitol as "a war zone" and compared it to the battlefield. The policewoman stated that she was "slipping on peoples' blood" and called the area around Capitol "a war zone."

Nick Quested, documentary writer, was among those who followed the Proud Boys militia's assault. He said that he was shocked at the "anger” he witnessed among the group's members. Images from the hearing were broadcast live on many news channels, but they were ignored by conservative media. This is yet another illustration of the deep political divide that divides the United States.

Millions of Trump supporters remain convinced, a year and half after the attack on the Capitol that the 2020 election was marred with fraud. Despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary, this belief persists. Donald Trump, the main interest party, once more praised Thursday's day, claiming that the storming at the Capitol was the "greatest move in history to make America great again".

It is essential that the parliamentary committee investigates this case in order to ensure that one of America's darkest periods in American history does not happen again, despite real threats. "Our democracy remains in danger. Bennie Thompson warned that the plot to destroy the will of the people was not over.

The majority of Republicans oppose its work. Kevin McCarthy, House Conservative Leader, denounced the commission as "the most politically and least legally authorized in American history". If his party wins control of the Chamber in the November mid-term legislative elections, it has already pledged to discredit the work of the commission. Liz Cheney, a Conservative MP, was criticized by the ex-president for being the only one in the Grand Old Party who openly dared to criticize him. She took her Republican colleagues to task, saying: "The day when Donald Trump leaves, but your dishonor will not be forgotten.
