Renner suffered the injuries while snow plowing as a result of "a weather-related accident". According to "Deadline", Renner was flown to the hospital on Sunday. His spokesman said his family is with him now and he is being "excellently taken care of".
It is not known where the accident took place. According to US media reports, the actor has a home in the Reno area, said to be a ranch above Lake Tahoe. There is said to have been a heavy snowstorm in the region on New Year's Eve.
Renner posted several clips of himself behind the wheel of a snow plow on Instagram and captioned one of them: "Almost done with the sled hill for the kids". On display is a snow clearing vehicle in XXL format, which one would expect to see on ski slopes rather than at home.
