"Read before you look at the next image. Rider Isabeau Courdurier warned her entire Instagram community because she is afraid some people will be shocked. The enduro mountain bike champion posted earlier this week on Instagram a photo showing her foot being pierced by a thick branch of wood while riding an e-bike around Valberg (Alpes-Maritimes).
She wrote, "I share it because this can happen to anybody in Enduro." My front wheel slid off a branch after I turned too far. I didn't fall. The branch took care of my upper shoe and entire foot.
Courdurier was forced to abandon the race after this incident and was flown directly to a hospital in Cannes. Amazingly, she had no injuries to her bones or tendons and was able have surgery without any problems.
