104,125 new corona cases were reported to the RKI for yesterday. Compared to the previous week, this is a sharp drop of around 24 percent.
The 7-day average of new cases falls significantly to around 81,600 cases - the lowest since June 27.
The downward momentum has thus increased somewhat.
The new corona cases on a 7-day average are around 15 percent down compared to the previous week.
The number of active cases is also falling more and more compared to the previous week – the value is currently minus three percent.
The decreasing number of infections is also reflected in the significant decrease in the number of super hotspots in Germany.
Only 34 urban and rural districts are currently reporting a 7-day incidence of more than 1000. A week ago there were 93 districts.
At the top is the East Frisian district of Wittmund with an incidence of 1866, followed by Wunsiedel in the Fichtelgebirge (1588).
The nationwide 7-day incidence fell again from the previous day, from 652 to 630. In addition to Berlin, Hamburg, Thuringia and Saxony-Anhalt, Saxony has now also fallen below the incidence mark of 500.
Brandenburg, North Rhine-Westphalia and Schleswig-Holstein are also approaching this threshold.
Only in two of the 16 federal states has the incidence increased compared to the previous week: in Bremen (plus 15) and Brandenburg (plus 6).
157 new corona deaths were reported to the RKI for yesterday. This is a slight minus of 11 percent compared to the previous week.
In the current week, the deaths add up to 525. For comparison: 644 corona deaths were reported for the entire previous week.
