German teenager kidnapped, raped and taken hostage by a German man wanted by German authorities was discovered on May 27th, during a check at Barcares in the Pyrenees Orientales.
According to the Pyrenees Orientales Gendarmerie, the victim, 13 years old, was abducted by a 22 year-old man. Two individuals were discovered by the gendarmes at a garage located in Barcares (a resort on the coast in the department).
The soldiers discovered a dummy pistol, handcuffs, and other equipment in the vehicle of the young man and arrested him. Investigators did not indicate the location of the kidnapping, stating that two Germans were in transit in the south of France.
The authorities issued a European arrest warrant for the young German citizen. He was then taken to Montpellier's general prosecutor, and he was later extradited to Germany.
