After a three-vehicle collision in County Donegal, a man in his 70s died.

The incident occurred on Tuesday, 22:50, local time, along the main Londonderry-to-Letterkenny road between Newtowncunningham & Manorcunningham.

Gardai (Irish Police) stated that the man died shortly after being taken to hospital.

They also added that a man in his 40s was taken to Letterkenny University Hospital for what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

The road was closed and diversions were in place.

Gardai from Letterkenny appealed to anyone with information regarding the incident.
