Drome. In three days, the Highway Code is broken by 250 gendarmes.

During the Ascension weekend, five units from the Drome departmental highway safety squadron increased their control operations. They notified over 250 violations of Highway Code, 150 of which were speeding. 17 of these violations resulted in the immediate suspension of the driving licence, i.e. Speeds exceeding 40 km/h are not allowed.

Other offenses included driving while under the influence, crossing the whiteline, faults with technical control, traffic on a hard shoulder, and even using the telephone while driving.

It is not surprising that 95% of the offenses were committed in France, despite the presence of foreigners on roads around Drome this weekend.
